The Cardinals start the day in the second wild card spot, and now only 2.5 games behind the first wild card spot with a four game win streak in hand. Unfortunately, they have to go into Philadelphia where Rollins, Utley, Howard, Lidge, Oswalt.., oh wait, those guys are all gone (mostly). It’s the 2016 Phillies, so let’s go in there and mash. Let Howard get his kicks in as he’s a local boy having a bit a of a resurgence lately, but this is the kind of 3 game series sweep that has eluded the redbirds too many times this season. Of course two wins would be nice as well, and a comeback of sorts from Wainwright would go a long way.
