NBA Finals Action

June 3rd, 2016

If you can’t already tell, unlike most other bars and restaurants in St.Louis we’re big into basketball at The Post Sports Bar & Grill.  We might not have a team in St.Louis, but if we did we’d vote on calling this fictional team the Saint Louis Smooth.  We envision the mascot to be a a little basketball goblin gliding across the hardwood at warp speed, possible with a BBQ flavored chicken wing in hand to show he can make “Barbeque Chicken” (royalty payment is on the way Shaq) out of his opponents.

OK, back to reality.  NBA Finals game 1 was last night and it was unexpectedly expected.  It was deemed likely that Golden State  would take game 1 (perhaps by a significant margin), but not necessarily in the way that it happened.  The Curry/Thompson combo had their worst scoring output of the season (thanks to a great defensive scheme employed by Tyronn Lue) yet the bench rallied behind Livingston and who other than last year’s reigning Finals MVP, Andre Iguodala.  Both of whom played lights out.  Livingston drew comparisons to Tracy McGrady last night with his smooth shooting combined with the Cavs inability to deal with his length in the paint.

The interesting thing is that we’re not sure who this game plays out for better concerning the rest of the series.  The silver lining for Cleveland is that they didn’t play well at all on the offensive end missing numerous put backs and layups yet were up by 1 late in the 3rd quarter.   on the flip side The Warriors walked out of Oracle Arena with a double digit victory despite the Curry/Thompson off night.

It’s Gonna be great to see how game 2 plays out.  If you’ve read up to this point you probably want to come watch it at the best sportsbar in St.Louis.  The Post will be serving up our standard $5.99 Johnny’s Daily Deal Post-It special all day long.  Plus we have a $10 weekend Miller/Coors bucket special going on as well.  Finally don’t forget to ask the bartender about our June $3 Beer Feature special.
