Conference Final Battles
May 24th, 2016
I’m assuming everyone else is feeling a little salty after that 6-3 Blues loss last night to The Sharks. The Post Sports Bar & Grill was packed with loyal fans clenching in the hopes of taking a series lead last night. This has been a good series so far no matter what restaurant or bar you’re bellying up to in order to watch the action. Troy Brouwer’s goal was one of the sweetest I’ve seen in a while. A one timer out of mid-air on an odd man rush, truly a thing of beauty. Unfortunately the Blues couldn’t capitalize and now we’re sitting with our backs against the wall for game 6. Fortunately this Blues team has the ‘It’ factor to claw back, we just need to see it happen.
Over in the Eastern conference the Tampa Bay Lightning lead The Penguins 3-2. Nikita Kucherov has been unstoppable and leads the NHL playoffs in goals scored. The Pens hope to put a lid on that tonight. Come join us and luckily today is Happy Tuesday, so we’ve got happy hour prices all day long. The Post Sports Bar & Grill is officially cheering for the Penguins in this one as our former executive kitchen manager was (and is) a long time Penguins fan. Plus WHEN The Blues knock off The Sharks, we’ll want to see Syd the Kid on the other side of the ice in the Stanley Cup!
In NBA action The OKC Thunder have surprisingly taken a 2-1 lead over The Golden State Warriors. Curry has been good, but Westbrook has been better… The flying Banshee as we like to refer to him. Game 4 is tonight. In case you skipped the hockey stuff above to get down to the basketball chatter come join us tonight for the GSW vs OKC game and being that it’s Happy Tuesday, we’ve got Happy Hour prices all day long!
Then in the Eastern Conference the Toronto Raptors have come alive and have shocked the Cavaliers to even the series at 2. For anyone following this series, Bismack Biyombo is making a name for himself as a defensive stalwart. His blocked dunk on Kevin Love was reminiscent of the Amare Stoudemire blocked dunk on Tim Duncan in the 2007 playoffs… anyone else remember that?!? Kyle Lowry has come alive in the last two games and Demar Derozan is playing like the all-star that he is.
Bottom line is that it’s one of the best times of the year with the NBA & NHL Conference Finals in full swing. No matter who you’re rooting for, there’s really only one place you should be posting up for the action… The best restaurant and bar in the neighborhood, The Post Sports Bar & Grill of course!
